In your first paragraph be sure to lay out the reasons why the film failed. Simply stating it didn't make its money back shows it failed financially but doesn't let me know why. You should also explain why we wanted/had to make the film 'cheaply' with SA and whether this impacted on the films success.
When you mention more successful adaptations make sure you include their box office takings to prove they have been successful, try to also briefly explain WHY they succeeded (think about what Mark Kermode said about making a blockbuster).
You make a good point about quadrants and certification, you also go on to make good points about why an audience might choose an American film over a UK one.
You also begin to make some good points on what makes a film 'British' but you'd need to be more specific about Dredd and how it attempted to mimic US society and films.
You end on a very good point about it having a modified wide release.
You will need to develop your understanding of marketing and targeting audiences through marketing campaigns. Consider not only how we advertised films but why we do (is it because of money or what audience want?)
